History abounds in the old gold mining town of Gulgong. Add to this the rugged sandstone country bordering the Goulburn River around the Drip which incorporates a mixture eastern and western flora and fauna and you have an adventure on your hands.

Day 1 - 20 km

  • Arrive in Mudgee & settle into your very comfortable accommodation
  • We will bring you your bikes and explain the Tour
  • If time permits, take a warm up ride along one of our recommended routes around Mudgee
  • This evening (and for days 2 & 5), explore Mudgee's excellent restaurants and cafes
  • Your detailed Tour Notes will outline various restaurant options

Day 2 - 35 km

  • After a hearty breakfast you depart for Gulgong
  • Leave your luggage to be picked up by us
  • Follow our recommended route along one of Mudgee’s northern wine trails
  • Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses en-route!
  • Travel at your own pace and arrive in Gulgong at your leisure
  • Visit the Cudgegong Gallery, Henry Lawson Centre and the Gulgong Pioneers Museum - optional.
  • Enjoy the ambiance of this amazingly preserved gold mining town
  • Another relaxing night awaits you at your chosen accommodation

Day 3 - 39 km

  • Today’s route takes you through Ulan to The Drip
  • Again there is plenty of time to enjoy the journey
  • Most of the trip is an easy gradient along quiet sealed roads
  • Pastoral land and eucalyptus trees abound
  • Tonight’s accommodation is in the beautifully situated, secluded and rustic Goulburn River Stone Cottages
  • This location is remote and absolutely tranquil
  • A BBQ dinner is included

Day 4 - 50 km

  • Today you will cycle from The Drip to Kain’s Flat
  • The middle part of the journey is along a very picturesque country lane with light bush land, often on both sides
  • In part, a dirt road winds around and crosses a creek
  • The Cooyal Pub is a great place to stop for a cool drink
  • There are also options of extra travel to
    • The Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve (11 km) and
    • The Castle Rock walking track (8 km) - not suitable for cycling
  • Tonight’s accommodation provides another opportunity for star gazing
  • A home cooked dinner is included.

Day 5 - 31 km

  • After a hearty breakfast, your last day is an easy jaunt back to Mudgee
  • Make the most of the opportunity to soak up the last of this unique experience
  • Once back in Mudgee you can see more of the town and vineyards
  • Return and relax at the same comfortable accommodation you enjoyed on your first night
